THE PROCESS

MEASURE > ENGAGE > ACHIEVE

Measure

Every organization is different in terms of its people and culture, and those unique characteristics need to be reflected in a tailored DEI initiative.

// Connect with CultureALL DEI Planning

Before CultureALL DEI Planning makes any specific recommendations, they spend sufficient time to understand your culture, your goals, past efforts to reach those goals, and the structures that make employee engagement and professional development activities easier. Insights gathered during this discovery phase are invaluable in creating a meaningful work plan to achieve your DEI goals.

With a solid understanding of your current environment, CultureALL DEI consultants next assess your organization’s potential for growth in DEI mindsets. Use of the Intercultural Development Inventory, a confidential 20-minute online survey, generates psychometric data that is vital to the implementation of a meaningful DEI initiative.

The Value of the Intercultural  Development Inventory (IDI)

  • Group data generated through the IDI will show how your teams view diversity and can help predict how they navigate the opportunities and challenges of working in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Individual data inspires your people to strive toward higher levels of competence, boosting their interpersonal skills and decision-making abilities.

Engage

Results from the IDI survey equip the CultureALL DEI Planning team with insight needed to chart a meaningful DEI roadmap. This roadmap is unique to your organization and one that you can follow over the next one to three years.

// Connect with CultureALL DEI Planning

CultureALL DEI Planning serves each participant in one-on-one, private conversations to support their developmental needs. Participants leave these coaching sessions with clearly defined, self-selected activities for achieving their growth potential. CultureALL DEI Planning also follows up with each participant in strict confidence to encourage commitment, discovery, and reflection.

A DEI roadmap emerging from the discovery and assessment phases will contain the elements you need to engage your people in a collaborative shift toward equity and inclusion.  Some of this work you’ll want to design and implement on your own. Some may require outside support. Either way, developing a multicultural mindset takes practice, which is why CultureALL DEI Planning will provide the support and encouragement you need.

Achieve

CultureALL DEI Planning believes in the simple idea that what gets measured gets done. By creating smart goals and a manageable scorecard, our team helps you keep your DEI initiative a priority.

The Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) is a core component of CultureALL DEI Planning’s comprehensive approach to assuring meaningful DEI results. This scientifically validated tool indicates how individuals recognize and respond to differences. The results provide the foundation for programs and ongoing measurements.

The IDI consists of 50 items and takes 15 minutes to complete. The resulting data are categorized under five primary labels representing the mindsets people have when interacting with other cultural groups.

  • Adaptation — Bridging differences is totally worth the effort
  • Acceptance — Deeply comprehending differences is fascinating
  • Minimization — Our similarities are more important than our differences
  • Polarization — Differences can be problematic
  • Denial — Similarities and differences really don't matter
